About Us

Snowdogs Box is going into its third year as a program. Each year we have had great growth in competition level and numbers. Our first year, we started with one local High School team. Last year, we had three local teams at the Bantam (U14) and High School age groups, with Bantam and High School travel groups!

In our third year, we are looking to make available 3rd grade to 12th grade participation from camps, clinics, evaluations, leagues, and tournaments. On the boys side and girls side. As we grow box lacrosse, the overall growth of lacrosse in Minnesota becomes greater!

Box lacrosse helps our overall lacrosse game in many ways. Smaller areas and tighter quarters calls for quicker thinking, movement, stick skills being able to protect your stick in less room, and use of teammates. It is not only good for your offensive skills, but it helps defensively by having to communicate faster and slide more quickly, communicating through picks. Shot clocks, along with quicker transitions, help with time management and decision making.

This year we will be rolling out opportunities on the girls side! As girls box grows, we want to help and continue propelling the box and girls games forward!

Opportunities for 3-12 grades:

Novice: 3/4

Peewee: 5/6

Bantam: 7/8

HS B: 9/10

HS A: 11/12

Riley Wood-Director

Coach Riley has been coaching lacrosse at the youth and high school levels for over 14 years and has been coaching and playing box since 2004.

Scott Jarmus-Director

Scott has played and coached box in multiple states in his 18 years of lacrosse experience!

Cabe Maskevich

Cabe has played box and field at the high school and collegiate levels bringing his offensive hybrid style of playing into his coaching.

Matt Wolter

Coach Matt grew up playing defense and with box lacrosse learned a great two way game with box, which he brings to coaching.

Toby Vetsch has been on both sides of the ball throughout his playing career and found himself in the cage through high school and college, while playing box as well! His field to box hybrid goalie style helps younger goalies who also play in the net year round.

Logan Wegwerth has brought a unique style to box lacrosse with his out of the box take on the game. His style, along with coach Toby, really help round out our goaltending tandem.
